Prefold diapers are your most economical cloth diapering option. They are your basic cloth diaper, made of either cotton or hemp. They`re called "prefolds" because of the way they are sewn, being thicker down the middle where more absorbency is needed. Prefolds can be pinned, fastened with a snappi, or simply held in place using a snug fitting cover. People find many other uses for their prefolds as well, from burp cloths to stuffers for pocket diapers. And long after your diapering days are over, you`ll probably find that your prefolds still have a lot of life left in them and you could find new purposes for them around the house.
These are gorgeous thick pre-fold diapers - unbelievably soft and thirsty!
They must be washed and dried 3-5 times before using in order to remove the natural oils and waxes - then they will quilt up and become soft and absorbent. Expect a shrinkage rate of about 22-25%.
